Meet Chay
Hi, I’m Chay — a culinary coach, cookbook author, and founder of The Kitchen Commune.
I’m a native New Yorker living in the Philly suburbs with my husband and our two daughters. I come from a long line of home cooks and homemakers and have been in the kitchen since I was a kid. Growing up in a family where everyone cooked gave me the confidence to try, make mistakes, and keep going—and that’s how real skill is built. Cooking well isn’t a gift reserved for a few; it comes from doing it regularly.
My approach is simple: a few foundational skills, whole-food ingredients, and repeatable practices. Whether we’re learning how to roast a chicken, build a versatile sauce, make a simple weeknight dinner, or put together an easy meal for friends, the goal is always the same: focus on one or two things at a time and return to them so that cooking becomes easier and feels more natural.
Inside The Kitchen Commune membership, I guide you through a slower, more intentional way of cooking and living—so you can nourish yourself and the people around you with simple, beautiful food, without overwhelm. This is an invitation into my world—where you’ll learn to trust your own rhythm and move with more confidence, and I’ll be here to support you every step of the way.
