Healthy Hot Chocolate

Does your teenager want to join you in the morning for a cup of coffee or tea? Are you a teenager yourself feeling the urge to partake in the ritual? I’m not here to demonize caffeine or tell you that it’s bad. The truth is for some people it’s beneficial and for others it’s not.  There’s a spectrum. Get curious about how it effects you and then decide how much, if any, you want.  In our family the only person who tolerates caffeine well is my husband. The rest of us have found alternative stimulating drinks that are far less disruptive but still satisfy that cozy social craving. Our favorite is homemade hot chocolate with cacao powder, dates, coconut oil, and milk. It’s a powerful superfood with MUCH less caffeine than green tea or coffee and might work well for you and your family.

Enjoy!
